"Long Island Designer Remembers 9-11 while Celebrating Her 10th Year of Bringing Her Empowering Message To Long Islanders"
Ten years ago New Yorker's and America realized how fragile and frightening life can be. One week after terrorists changed our world, the Natalie Weinstein Home Decorating Club was launched on Long Island. Forty sources gathered together at Suffolk Community College's first ever Home Show wondering if people would venture out and even fearing this place of assembly might be a target. Five hundred families joined the Home Decorating Club that weekend and 10 years later, 15,000 members and growing have proved that New Yorker's and America can and will survive.
On Sunday, September 18th, 2011 during the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Natalie Weinstein Home Decorating Club, a commemorative award winning photo of the Flag that flew in the Plaza of the World Trade Center, taken by Jack Ader and signed by Rudy Giuliani, will be auctioned to benefit Contractors For Kids, an organization helping catastrophically ill children and their families.
Mr. Ader, Natalie's long time photographer and marketing guru ironically was the creator of the Home Decorating Club. His photographic expertise was enlisted to document the artifacts to be displayed at the World Trade Center Tribute Center.
